1: Anatomy and Physiology:

This manual is the anatomy, physiology and biomechanics part of the 200 Hrs Yoga TT at Hot Yoga Stavanger.

It gives you an overview of the important things to know about in anatomy. It does NOT mean that you have to know the Latin names of muscles and bones by heart. We just want you to get an understanding of layers and functions of bones, fascia and muscles and exploring movement principles in practice.

2: Teaching Methodology:

This session is the written information on Teaching Methodology. This manual is just a summary that will we will elaborate on with discussions, lectures and lots of practical teaching in the Teaching Clinics.

Books that are optional but very good to read once you come out of the training are:
Mark Stephens; Yoga Sequencing
Mark Stephens; Teaching Yoga

Practice and experience is very important when it comes to teaching, so, we will spend a lot of time practicing teaching (and sequencing) in the Teaching Clinics during the training.

We will discuss the ethical standards yoga teachers should comply to and give you some pointers on the business side of yoga.

3: Techniques, Training and Practice:

This part is all about the Techniques, training and practice of the training manuals. In this manual we will learn about Asana, Pranayama and meditation in regards of the historical context, principles and methods of practice and the effects of the practices. You can find all the Asana discussed in the Asana Mechanics sessions of this training in this manual. As Yoga has to be experienced, we will spend a lot of time practicing and experiencing in the guided classes and mechanic sessions.

4: Yoga Humanities.

This part is an overview of Yoga History, Philosophy and Ethics.

In this part of the training we will have lectures, reading, discussions and self study. In addition to the manual the following books would be very good to read:

Yoga Sutras by Patanjali - Swami Satchidananda Bhagavad Gita, a walkthrough for Westerners - Jack Hawley.

You will receive 200 hours Yoga Alliance certification after completion of the course.
